AXA Medical Insurance Review

AXA is one of the world’s largest insurance companies and has been operating in the Gulf region for 68 years. They offer a number of policies extending to different countries in the region and world.

Getting assistance is easy with AXA, as the company has over 800 employees and 25 branches and retail shops in the region. As well as covering you and your family members, AXA offer coverage for domestic helpers, so you can protect your employees too. If you’re going on a trip, you can extend your coverage to include worldwide medical assistance.

Headquartered in Paris, France, the company took the name AXA in 1985 as a word that would be easily pronounceable in every language on the planet. AXA can trace its history back to the second decade of the 19th Century (like the US giant Aetna), when Mutuelle de L’assurance contre L’incendie (translated as the Mutual Assurance Against Fire, also known as the ‘Ancienne Mutuelle’) was founded in 1816.A

How to make a claim

The easiest way to make a claim with Aetna International is online.

Before you make a claim, make sure you have:

  1. Registered for an AXA.ae web account
  2. Your policy details to hand, this includes your policy and membership numbers, as well as personal details
  3. Details about the health care provider you’ve seen, your claim reimbursement form, your invoice and proof of payment, as well as the treatment, consultation or service you received
  4. Documents that support your claim. If you’re going to submit online (which is the fastest method) they should be in an electronic format
  5. Your credit or debit card, or other preferred method of payment

Then visit AXA claims portal and fill in the details about your claim.

You can submit multiple claims over a period of time as a single claims submission.

Once you have submitted your claim, AXA send you a claim reference number by email and SMS for you to track your claim. You will be alerted by email and SMS if any documentation is missing or supporting documents are needed.

You can track your claim by either visiting the manage claim page on the AXA website or on the MyAXA app.

Remember: AXA reserves the right to see the original documents when processing your claim(s), so keep these safe until your claim is closed and fully reimbursed.
